Spring has started.
The sun’s in the sky, the birds are singing and we can see the leaves are coming back. Saying that, we know the outside world’s a real uncertainty at the moment, so we’d like to do our bit to spread some joy where possible. We’ve put together a list of things, tried and tested by the Urban Eat team, that you can do while you’re staying safe at home.
Test your kitchen skills
Why not try that recipe you’ve been meaning to test for as long as you can remember? Albeit with a few replacement ingredients, depending on what you have in the cupboards! Get creative! If it goes well, you can debut it to your friends at your next dinner party and deem yourself The Host with the Most? Or just share on your Instagram!
Get around to some of that life admin
Garden could do with some de-weeding? Tupperware cupboard need to be brought back under control? Wardrobe bursting at the seams? Take some time to finally get around to those niggly life admin tasks that we spend ages (the whole year) avoiding! There are proven therapeutic qualities to these activities; tidy home, tidy mind and all that.
Sign up to your council’s Local Volunteer Scheme
Given everything that’s going on at the moment, get to know your local community and find out if there’s anything you can do to help them. Why not see if any of your neighbours are self-isolating but have pets and offer to walk their dog? If that’s not quite for you, a council Volunteer Scheme could let vulnerable people around you know that you’re available to help them run errands like trips to pharmacies or supermarkets.
